It has been a week since we arrived in NZ and so much has happened already and so much is yet to happen!
Today's English lesson...
NZに来て一週間が経ちました。これまでの内容も濃かったけど、これからもまだまだ盛り沢山ありますよー。
さて、今日の英語授業は・・・
It began with a small interview game.
Then the students investigated health related products avaiable in NZ and gave mini-presentations about them.
お互いのことを聞き合うインタビューゲームから始まりました。
その後、学生達はNZの健康器具を調査してきたので、それについてプレゼンをしました。
Over all pretty good, everyone needs to speak louder however. Maybe we need to have an English yelling contest
皆よくできていました。だけど、もう少し大きな声で自信を持って！
次は英語で叫ぶコンテストをしましょうか。
After lunch the nursing studnets got to visit a GP doctor.
昼食後は看護コースの学生達は町の開業医のJosh先生を訪問しました。
Here Dr Josh explained about being a doctor in NZ as I translated. We got into a lot of interesting topics. Some about public health and how the government conveys health related information and the GP (general practitioner) system used in NZ which is quite different than Japan.
先生がNZの医療について説明してくださいました。（通訳：私、David）
色々な興味深いトピックについてお話してくださいました。公衆衛生については、政府がどのように健康関連の情報を国民に届けるか、NZの町の開業医の使い方のシステムとか、日本とは全く違った医療のシステムでした。
While the nurses were at the GP, the Food and Nutrition group had a break and did some skateboarding. Emi, thanks for leaving your board! Everyone loves it.
一方、その間、食物栄養学科の学生は、午後から休憩タイム。スケートボードをしている学生も。
交換留学生Emiさんがおいていってくれたものです。皆、愛用しています。Emiさん、ありがとう！
Finally today we had a exchange lesson about health with Raesha-sensei's class.
とうとう今日は、カンタベリー大学のRaesha先生の交流授業の日です。
看護学科の学生がカンタベリー大学の健康関係の授業に参加します。
Our students introduced Japanese food to the group.
園田の学生達は日本の食べ物について紹介しました。
思ったようにできましたか？
Then we broke into small teaching units. Here the UC students introduced the Maori hangi meal to our students.
その後、グループに分かれ、このグループでは、カンタベリー大学の学生さんがマオリのHangi料理について紹介してくれました。Hangi料理というのは地中に埋めた石のオーブンで作る料理だそうです。
Each group had a different theme so the UC students got to practice their teaching and our studnets got to learn many new things and meet some of the local students.
グループによりテーマが違うので、カンタベリー大学の学生さんにとっては教え方の勉強になったようです。また、本学の学生は新しいことを沢山学べましたね。
Thank you Raesha-sensei for such a great experience. I hope we can do this again next year!
