Today we had many lessons and everyone tried their best and I think they learned many new things.
食栄チームの研修ですね。
In the morning our Food Culture group made a lamb roast with Cathrine-sensei. She brought some vegetables everyone knew (carrots, potatoes) and some that were new to everyone (parsnips, yams) to enjoy.
下の写真の右がキャサリン先生ですね。ラム・ローストを作ったんですか。先生有り難うございます。わざわざ野菜も持参していただいたんですね。中には日本では見慣れない野菜もあったんですね。
Here we are cutting the veggies while the lamb cooks in the oven.
ラムができあがるまで野菜を刻んでます。
Cutting open the big pumpkin was a good challenge for everyone.
このカボチャ、固いのかな？切るのに一苦労。
Look at that lambchop! It smelt so good.
ラムのよい香りが写真からでてくるようです。
これは、皆のお昼ご飯になったんですよね。お味はどうだったんですか？美味しかった？当然のことやけどね。このへんのコメントや食べてる様子の写真が欲しかったなぁ！
In the other room the nursing studnets had an introduction to nursing in NZ from Takako-sensei. She has lived in NZ since she was 19 and works as a nurse in an orthopedic hospital.
一方、看護グループはタカコ先生からニュージーランドでの看護について学んでいます。先生は19歳からニュージーランドに住み始め、整形外科の病院で勤務されているようです。
Everyone took a lot of notes and asked questions. This was a great first lesson because Takako-sensei can talk to them in Japanese. From here however all the lessons are in English so this gives them a good base to start from.
とても勉強になったようです。説明は日本語でもあったからですが、皆よく質問をしたようですね。今後は英語での講義となりますからね。通訳される日本語で学習したらアキマセンよ。しっかり「英語」で看護のことを学んでくださいね。
Belinda-sensei is a pubic health nurse. She is a nurse but she deals in public health for under 18 year old children. She has to do vaccinations, health checks and deal with things like bed wetting. Here Belinda-sensei is holding up a mat that you put on a child's bed. When it gets wet it makes a loud noise walking up the child to use the toilet.
看護研修2時間目はブレンダ先生。先生は18歳未満の健康問題の専門家。先生が手にしているものはマット（この写真からはよく分かりませんが）だということです。ベッドが濡れると大きな音がするんだそうです。
The last lesson today was from Liz-Sensei. She is a dietician in NZ and has worked in hospitals, elder care homes and with the government.
本日最後の講義はリズ先生から栄養指導。先生は病院でお年寄りの栄養指導を専門にされているようです。この講義は看護、食栄合同で行われたようです。
The students were very interested in how the NZ government tries to teach the people here how to make better, healthier choices.
皆は、政府の栄養指導等にとても興味関心があったようですね。
This was our first hard lesson day and I think everyone did their best and got a lot out of it. It's been a great day all around. Tomorrow we go to the farmer's market which is always a lot of fun.
本格的な研修を受け、充実した一日になったようです。明日は土曜日ということもあり、ファーマーズ・マーケットに行く予定です。
